I'm wondering what to do nowadays when I log on to DCUO. Besides the summer event, there's not much else to do. I'm not a PVP fan and I've already completed my PVE T4 dps set. Goddamnit. Just play the broker I guess. Already amassed a fair bit of cash. Just waiting on Capt Cold's Hood to appear on the broker so that I can buy it, finally call it a day and quit the game. HAHAHA. Meanwhile, I'm back to playing Starcraft 2 to try and get my Diamondback portrait.
Edit (27-07-12): Finally got hold of Capt Cold's Hood =)
These are the Starcraft 2 portraits that come with the the Diablo 3 Collector's Edition: the Wizard Templar, the Tyrael Marine, and the Witch Doctor Zergling. For the record, these portraits were the only reason I purchased the Collector's Edition of Diablo 3 =)
Someone on the forums said that this beauty drops from Booster Gold in the Hive duo as a healer shield.. Its my favorite shield style. Have yet to see it drop. Otherwise, its only available as a level 15 quest reward. Good hunting!
A leaguemate of mine, Uxix, got the Helm of Omnipotence today. Its a legendary drop off Brainiac in the Prime Battleground. Well deserved. He's has been resetting PBG and running it almost every day since it came out. This gives you a clue to the drop rate. I'd say its 1% or less.

Many new players in DCUO are unaware that they can join popular custom channels for forming groups. The custom channel for heroes is "LFG" and the custom channel for villains is "VLFG". LFG stands for Looking For Group. If you are trying to form a party for an alert or a raid, you will have more success advertising in these respective channels than just shouting in general chat in the Watchtower / Hall of Doom.
(A) How to join a custom channel (the "LFG" channel in this case)
1. Press "ESC"
2. Scroll horizontally to the right until you access "Chat Options"
3. Find the line that reads "Join/Create Custom Channel".
4. Enter "LFG" in the field
5. Click on the Join button beside it.
6. You should see the LFG channel appear at the bottom of the screen under the heading "Custom Channels"
Below is a screenshot showing the details.
(B) How to chat in a custom channel (the "VLFG" channel in this case)
1. Press Enter
2. Hold down the CTRL key and press either the UP or DOWN arrow key till you have selected the VLFG channel 3. Type in a message and hit enter to submit the message. 4. Below is a picture guide (click on the image to view the larger version).
Since many new villains are confused with the layout of the Hall of Doom, I decided to come up with a couple of maps for your navigating pleasure =)
The Respec Area Most people are confused when they want to go to the respec area and instead they see the phase shifter where the respec area is supposed to be on the map. This is because they (and the phase shifter) are on the upper level and the respec area is on the lower level. You can reach the lower level by going to any of the wings (meta/magic/tech) and going down the lower ramp to a large circular ring (the Pit). The respec area is located north of the Pit.
The Bank There are 2 locations in the Hall of Doom where you can access the bank. The easiest way to find them is to start in the Meta Wing. Starting at the vendor named Chugon, face north and look for a small corridor located (to your north east or north west) that leads upwards. Follow this and it should take you to the bank.
So, I'm trying to think of some stuff to put up which would help players new to DC Universe Online. What would you like to see? Please include them in the comments section!
Over the top of my head, I'm thinking of coming up with the following: - map of the Hall of Doom, including vendor/teleporter locations and respec area
- pics of the different marks and how to get them
- user interface guide eg. Style tab, On Duty tab, Marketplace tab
- tank/controller/healer role guide eg. switching roles and role interactions in combat
- how to join the LFG/VLFG custom channels to enable you to hook up with other players and aid the forming of groups
- basic chat command guide eg. /tell /shout /league /party /raid
